Plan B

Posted by Eleanor on Nov 16, 2007

Alrighty.

As stated in my previous post, some problems have arisen over here. After much consideration, and consultation with Stephanie, the decision has been made to abandon blogging here at my domain, and switch it back over to my place at LiveJournal. I sincerely hate to do this to you yet again, but in the long run this is going to be the simplest solution, and I’m all about simple solutions these days.

Most of you knew me at LiveJournal, so it’s just going back to the old familiar. Same account, same everything, really. For those who didn’t know me there, it’s a bit different from other blogging systems, but I don’t think that you’ll have any trouble with it. I know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, as in not all of my visitors liked it, which was why I wandered away in the first place. But, having roamed around a bit in the past several months, it’s clear that LJ is where it’s at for me. It’s great for standard blogging, plus there are lots of features that make it a fun and useful place to be for those in the LJ community. You don’t have to set up an account and join the community in order to visit and comment, though, so I’m not adding any extra work for blog friends who aren’t LJ members.

In fact, you don’t even need to change my blog identity to that link, if you don’t want to. For right now, you can follow the link in this post, and when Stephanie gets my domain directory page finished, which is what you’ll come to when you use my current URL here, there will be a link to the blog in the directory list. So, it’s up to you. Probably you’ll need to change the link if you use a blogroll tool of some kind, but if you don’t, and don’t mind one extra click, the link you’re using for here now will be fine.

My domain is going to remain, obviously, and I do have some plans for it, which will be developed over time. All of that is explained over at LJ, though, so I won’t repeat it here.

Sorry for making you chase me yet again, but at least this time it wasn’t because I got bored and restless. I would have stayed here for sure, were it not for the technical glitches. I don’t imagine that LJ is going to shut down any time soon, and there’s enough versatility over there to prevent any boredom. So, unless the sky falls, or something equally unlikely happens, I’M NOT MOVING AGAIN!!!! Much as I like variety in my life, frequent blog moves are starting to annoy me immensely, too!

See ya there.

Gremlins

Posted by Eleanor on Nov 13, 2007

Hi Everybody,

Just a quick post, if this posts, to let you know that I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth. The gremlins have invaded and I’ve been having some technical difficulties here at ye olde blogge. The resident tech whiz kid has been on the case and is trying to sort things out, but it looks like we’re moving on to Plan B. Bah!

You’ll find out all about it as soon as we get things properly sorted. I more or less know how it’s going to go, but I need to confirm a few details with she who actually knows what she’s doing. Ahem. I can tell you, however, that you won’t need to change my URL in your blog list, unless you desperately want to. I felt those glares. :)

Otherwise, everything’s fine here. Back soon!

Counting to Ten Through Clenched Teeth

Posted by Eleanor on Nov 2, 2007

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, ladies, but it’s that time of year again. ‘Tis the time of year when love for one’s spouse/partner is likely to be put to the severest of tests. I don’t make a habit of picking on men because I really, really like them as a species. I’m married to a rather splendid one and have always had thoroughly fab male specimens in my circle of friends. I’m very much a girly girl in many ways, but I seem to relate better to the male brain than I do to the female version quite a bit of the time.

Except at this time of year. Even Mr. Shrew twangs my last nerve something awful when he lapses into a spell of stereotypical male behaviour. I know that he can’t help it, as he’s genetically programmed to be this way. But …!!!
